While editing at Zelda Wiki, you will often see '''acronyms''' of the ''Zelda'' games' titles. Though Zelda Wiki [[Zelda Wiki:Quality Standards#Referring to Games in Articles|prohibits using the acronyms in articles]], they are used for brevity in many [[Help:Templates|templates]] – namely the [[:Category:Game links|game link shortcuts]] – as well as in [[Help:Upload|file names]]. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with these acronyms when you begin contributing to Zelda Wiki.  

==Standard Acronyms==

These are the standard acronyms used by Zelda Wiki. In filenames, please use the standard acronym and not another variant (for example, use "ALttP" and not "LttP"). For templates, it usually doesn't matter which one you use.

The acronyms constitute the subtitle of the game with lowercase prepositions, except the first letter which is always uppercase. The "T" in "The" is included. The acronym may be shortened from the full subtitle in cases where the latter is particularly long.
