Courage Island is a location in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Features and Overview
Courage Island is a tall Sky Island located in the Hyrule Ridge Sky. In the distant past, it was the site of the Dive Ceremony for Zonai youth to test their courage and prove their adulthood.[2] This was done by diving from the top of the Island through a set of rings to the pool at the lowest part of the Island.[3] It has since been abandoned and is home to a lone Steward Construct. By speaking to the Steward Construct, Link can undergo the Dive Ceremony himself.[4] If Link has not performed the dive beforehand, the Steward Construct will require him to undergo a practice run first.[5] This practice run does not have a time limit and the sole goal is to pass through all of the rings of light in the dive. If Link agrees, he will be taken to the top of Courage Island and the practice run will begin once he activates the terminal there. When Link successfully completes the practice run, the Taunhiy Shrine will appear to the west of the pool.
Upon Link completing the practice run, the Steward Construct will allow him to perform the Dive Ceremony at the cost of one Zonai Charge.[6][7] The Dive Ceremony must be completed by passing through all of the rings of light in 35 seconds or less.[8] By completing the Dive Ceremony in the specified amount of time, Link will be given the Glide Shirt as proof of his courage and status as an adult.[9][10] If Link takes longer than 20 seconds to complete the Ceremony, he will be invited to beat the current record at the cost of another Zonai Charge.[11] If Link also beats the record of 20 seconds on his first attempt, he will be given a Large Zonai Charge as well.[12][10][13] Beating this record after his first attempt will also result in the same reward. After Link beats the 20 second record, the Steward Construct will ask for his name to register him as the new record holder.[14]
