Dauntless is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Dauntless is a Horse belonging to the Hylian treasure hunter Nazbi.[1] Together they can be found traveling along the Hilltop High Road, making stops at Serenne Stable, Tabantha Bridge Stable, and Snowfield Stable. Dauntless is equipped with a Stable Saddle and a Stable Bridle.
Nazbi claims to have become dependent upon Dauntless, being unable to run a few steps on his own without getting winded.[3] He shows a great deal of affection toward Dauntless, who he describes as his "beloved Dauntless," "dear horse,"[4] "noble steed,"[1] and "equal partner."[5] Even in the face of cold weather, Nazbi encourages Dauntless to continue forward.[6]
Tears of the Kingdom
Although Dauntless does not appear in Tears of the Kingdom, they are mentioned by Nazbi, who claims that they have grown so big that he lacks the budget to feed them.[7] As a result, he has begun searching for treasure throughout Hyrule so that he will be able to buy Carrots for Dauntless.[7][8] After calling himself a "dauntless adventurer", Nazbi clarifies that he should not be confused with Dauntless.[2]
