Gerudo Shields are Shields made by the Gerudo. This is consistent with all other pieces of Gerudo Gear, the equipment archetype to which the Gerudo Shield belongs.[3] They are commonly wielded by Gerudo, especially soldiers and travelers.[1] Their design has changed over the years to match the fighting styles of the Gerudo.[1]

They can be found in Treasure Chests throughout the Gerudo Region. Additionally, Gerudo Shields may also be wielded by Enemies in the Gerudo Region. One also spawns on a rock pillar in the Great Cliffs area east of the Dako Tah Shrine. They have a chance to appear in Treasure Chests that spawn when the Breath of the Wild Series Urbosa amiibo is scanned with the amiibo Rune. A Gerudo Shield, as well as a Diamond and five pieces of Flint can be given to Buliara to remake the Daybreaker, should it ever be broken.[4]

If Link speaks to Selmie with a Gerudo Shield equipped, she will take note of it. She reveals that the Gerudo are famous for this Shield, and remarks that they put thought into making it useful for Shield Surfing.[5]

Being made of metal, Gerudo Shields will conduct Electricity and attract Lightning if they are equipped during Thunderstorms. They will also sink if they are dropped in Water, but they can be picked up and manipulated with the Magnesis Rune. Finally, Gerudo Shields do not burn like wooden Shield will when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate.
