Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Hateno Pasture is a ranch located on the eastern end of Hateno Village. It features a single House, where Tokk sleeps at night.[4] Koyin, who is a shepherd, can always be found in front of the Pasture, while Dantz works in a stall behind the House. The largest part of Hateno Pasture is its field, which borders Lake Sumac and Retsam Forest. Several Blue Flame Pedestals and Apple Trees are placed along the Pasture's western fence.

Fresh Milk originates from the Hateno Cows and Highland Sheep kept at Hateno Pasture.[5] However, it has recently had issues with the Monsters on Hateno Beach, which have been stealing the Sheep from Koyin.[6] Searching for help, Koyin posted a notice on Hateno Village's bulletin board asking for someone to defeat the Monsters.[7]

When Link first meets Koyin, she will explain the Hateno Pasture's troubles with Monsters to him.[6] This begins "The Sheep Rustlers" Side Quest. After the Monsters on Hateno Beach have been defeated, Koyin notices that the Highland Sheep have calmed down.[8] She then asks Link if he was the one who defeated the Monsters.[9] If Link confirms that he did, she will give him 10 bottles of Fresh Milk as a reward.[10] Afterwards, the notice on Hateno Village's bulletin board will change to a message thanking Link.[11]

Dantz operates the Deer Hunting Mini-Game from the Hateno Pasture. In order to manage the Deer population in Retsam Forest, Dantz asks Link to hunt as many Deer as he can within one minute.[12] As a reward, he gives Link Rupees depending on how many Deer he kills.[13][14][15][16]

A single Treasure Chest can be found within Hateno Pasture. If Link befriends the Pasture's Hylian Retriever, it will lead him to a metal Chest embedded in the ground, which contains a Silver Rupee.[17]
