Extra Hearts

Hearty Blueshell Snails can be found on the shores of the Lanayru Sea and the Necluda Sea. They can become Icy Hearty Blueshell Snails when frozen by Ice and Blueshell Escargot when exposed to Fire. Eating one restores three Hearts to the Life Gauge. When Hearty Blueshell Snails are cooked into a meal, the resulting dish will grant Link temporary Hearts.[1]

As part of the "What's for Dinner?" Side Quest, Link must gather a Hearty Blushell Snail and Goat Butter for Kiana in Lurelin Village.[3][4] He will be rewarded with fifty Rupees and Seafood Paella for doing so.

When cooking in a Cooking Pot, a Hearty Blueshell Snail is required to make Hearty Clam Chowder and Seafood Paella. Either a Hearty Blueshell Snail, Mighty Porgy, or Armored Porgy are needed to make Seafood Curry and Seafood Fried Rice. A Hearty Blueshell Snail, a Sneaky River Snail, or any Fish can be used to make Salt-Grilled Fish. To make a Seafood Skewer, either a snail, a Bright-Eyed Crab, an Ironshell Crab, or a Razorclaw Crab must be used. Hearty Blueshell Snails are among the seafood that can be used to make Fish Pie, Creamy Seafood Soup, Copious Fish Skewers, Glazed Seafood, Gourmet Meat and Seafood Fry, Meat and Seafood Fry, Monster Stew, Pepper Seafood, Prime Meat and Seafood Fry, Seafood Meunière, Seafood Rice Balls, and Steamed Fish.
