The Middle Hinox Brother,(TotK)[1] also known as the Hinox (Middle Kin),(BotW)[2] is a recurring Sub-Boss in The Legend of Zelda series.

Characteristics

Breath of the Wild

The Hinox (Middle Kin) is a Blue Hinox that can be found in Uten Marsh on Mount Taran.[2] Alongside the Hinox (Youngest Kin) and Hinox (Oldest Kin), it is one of the Giant Brothers, all of which have an Ancient Orb tied around their necks. It will typically be asleep, but it will wake up and begin to attack if Link disturbs it.[3] Following a Blood Moon, the Hinox (Middle Kin) will be revived if it has previously been defeated.

The Hinox (Middle Kin)'s Ancient Orb must be acquired as part of "The Three Giant Brothers" Shrine Quest in order to reveal an Ancient Shrine.[4] Link can accomplish this by either killing the Hinox or using Stealth to steal its Orb. Collecting all three Ancient Orbs and placing them in the Pedestals on Mount Taran will cause Tawa Jinn Shrine to rise from the ground.[5]

In Master Mode, the Hinox (Middle Kin) will remain a Blue Hinox, despite others of its kind being upgraded to Black Hinoxes.

After Calamity Ganon has been defeated for the first time, Kilton will ask Link to defeat every Hinox in Hyrule. This includes the Hinox (Middle Kin). Should Link succeed in this task, Kilton will give him the Medal of Honor: Hinox as a reward.
