Hot-Footed Frogs are a type of Frog that can be located near bodies of Water, swimming or hopping about on the bank.[1] Link can crouch to sneak up and catch them, or alternatively, he can quickly dash to snare them before they startle and disappear. Otherwise, Hot-Footed Frogs will run away once they spot him. They are primarily Cooked alongside Monster Parts to create Hasty Elixirs.[1] The Kochi Dye Shop also accepts them as an ingredient for Green Dye.

A Hot-Footed Frog appears in the ninth Recovered Memory, "Silent Princess," where Zelda captures one to show Link,[4] excitedly saying that it is a delicacy known to have potent effects.[5] She then states that Hyrule Castle's research shows that eating one can enhance certain abilities, going on to add that while they are not in a controlled environment, Link's high level of physical fitness would make him perfect for the study.[6] She presses him to taste it.[7]

10 Hot-Footed Frogs, as well as five Ice Keese Wings, are needed to upgrade each piece of the Climbing Set to its third tier at a Great Fairy Fountain.
