Ivee is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Ivee is a young Hylian woman who lives in Hateno Village. She can typically found sweeping the ground outside of the East Wind with her Broom. When it is Raining outside, Ivee will move from her usual spot to sweep underneath the canopy instead. Ivee stays outside until 9:00 PM, when she decides to turn in.[4] At night, she sleeps on the second floor above the East Wind, along with her brother Azu and her mother Amira.
Whenever Link passes by the General Store, she will call him over with a wave and a greeting.[5][6] If it is their first meeting, she will bring up the nice weather to him.[7] She then mention that the East Wind is open for business and urges Link to check the stock inside.[8]
After their initial encounter, Link can ask Ivee a couple of questions. Should Link inquire where he is, she will happily identify the East Wind again, assuring Link of the quality of their products.[9] If Link decides to ask Ivee who she is, she will be shocked by the question before bringing herself to properly answer.[10] She will continue to stumble over a formal greeting before going with an informal one.[11] The next time he asks, she assures him that she will introduce herself as many times as he likes.[12] If Ivee is finally able to get out the formal greeting she was trying to find before, she will be pleased pleased with herself.[13] When Link leaves the conversation, she responds by asking him to return to the shop later.[14]
While Ivee is heading to her bed, Link will not be able to ask her any questions. If he speaks to her during this time, she mentions that even though the hour is late, the East Wind is still open.[15] Even while asleep, she dreams of beckoning patrons into the General Store.[16][17]
Ivee has a Diary sitting on a side table next to her bed. Within, she has written down recipes for three different meals.[18]
Like other residents of Hateno Village, Ivee has a unique reaction when Link speaks to her while carrying the Blue Flame. She recognizes the Flame as something Purah used to carry around.[19][20]
Tears of the Kingdom
Ivee can be seen sweeping the exterior of the East Wind in Hateno Village. She now wears a large Mushroom hat.
Trivia
- In Breath of the Wild, Ivee will continue to refer to Link as a "young man", even if he is wearing the complete Gerudo Outfit.
