Karsh is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Karsh is a Gerudo woman who travels between Woodland Stable and Foothill Stable by way of the Ternio Trail. She carries a Gerudo Scimitar and a Gerudo Shield. At the beginning of conversations, she will often introduce herself to Link and tell him to remember her name.[4]
Originally, Karsh is from the Gerudo Desert.[5][6] She was a guard for Gerudo Town, where she was a master archer.[7] Back then, she was able to stop monsters from attacking with a single Arrow.[8][9]
Karsh left Gerudo Town in search of a man, but she has not had much luck in her quest.[1][10][11][12] Though Karsh started her journey some time ago, she has not yet given up hope.[13] She notes that the Gorons have a similar level of endurance to her, and she wonders whether she will meet her match amongst them.[14][15]
All Karsh wants is to be with the man she was born to marry, and she does not care what race he could be.[16][17] During her journey, Karsh has met men of many different races and learned how people live outside of Gerudo Town.[18] She likes the Gorons in particular and wishes her skin was as tough as theirs.[19]
Karsh knows many things about Eldin. She has heard that the Mountain Road becomes even hotter than the Gerudo Desert, and she regrets not bringing clothes that are appropriate for such conditions.[20][21] She also warns Link of the Magma Bombs that make travelling to Goron City dangerous.[22] In addition, she has heard that the Goron Hot Springs are supposed to be good for one's skin, which she remarks that visitors will need, since they will be torn apart by monsters on the way there.[23][24]
While Karsh dislikes Rain, she considers it a good excuse to start conversations with people.[25][26]
If Karsh encounters any enemies on her journey, she will draw her Gerudo Scimitar to fight.[27][28][29] When Link saves her, Karsh will be grateful for his assistance.[30][31][32] She may also complain about having to deal with monsters.[33] To thank Link for helping her, she gives him an Energizing Elixir, a Fireproof Elixir, or Rupees.[34]

Trivia
- In Breath of the Wild, Karsh is one of several characters that will hit Link back if he attacks them with a Weapon.[35][36][37] These attacks deal no damage.
