Biography

Breath of the Wild

Keye is a Zora child who resides within Zora's Domain. During the day, he plays near Mipha's Statue in the Zora's Domain Square. At night, he and his brother, Tumbo, rest in the Sleeping Chamber.[4]

When Link initially speaks to Keye, he will ask who he is.[5] If Link responds that he is a Hylian, Keye will not be very impressed.[6] If Link is unable to answer, Keye will accuse him of copying how he speaks.[7] Upon getting a closer look, however, he realizes that Link is a Hylian.[8]

Knowing that Link is a Hylian, Keye then asks if he came from far away.[9] He starts to tell Link the reason for his question, but he decides not to continue, since his father, Fronk, told him not to talk to strangers.[10] Afterwards, if Link tries to ask him what is wrong, Keye will claim that it is not the business of a Hylian.[11]

After Link has calmed Divine Beast Vah Ruta, he can find Keye standing in front of Mipha's Statue with Laruta.[12] When Link asks what he is doing, Keye explains that he is practicing to use a spear.[13] He does a jump to demonstrate his abilities, but he laments that he is unable to reach the Statue's pedestal.[14] In frustration, he admits to having seen the pedestal somewhere else before.[15] He thinks there may have been a similar pedestal at Veiled Falls, and he wants to be able to jump high enough to pierce it.[16]

Once Mei has returned to Zora's Domain, Keye tells Link that he hopes he will help his family if something happens to them again.[17]
