The Master Craftsman is a character in Ocarina of Time.[3]

Biography

During Link's childhood, the Master Craftsman is the boss of a group of Carpenters who are working on building up Kakariko Village on the orders of Impa, who hopes the village will someday be a "true city."[4] He can be found during the day, standing next to the Tree in Kakariko Village. The Master Craftsman's daughter is the Cucco Lady and he has a son, who he is ashamed of for "sitting around all day."[5]

In the future, the Master Craftsman and his Carpenters have set up a tent in Gerudo Valley next to the bridge that the Gerudo thieves destroyed to ward off intruders.[6] The Master Craftsman wants to repair the bridge, but his workers have left him to become thieves at the Gerudo's Fortress.[6][7] The Gerudo thieves reject the Carpenters instead, holding them prisoner in separate cells throughout their Fortress. Link frees each of them and after a scolding from the Master Craftsman,[8] the Carpenters rebuild the bridge in Gerudo Valley.

The Master Craftsman plays a role in the Biggoron's Sword Trading Quest. After giving him the Poacher's Saw that his son left behind in the Lost Woods, he gives Link the Broken Goron's Sword in return. After receiving the Saw, the Master Craftsman comments that he thought he left the Saw with his "old lady."[9]
