Mija's Great Fairy Fountain is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.(BotW)[1] Mija's Great Fairy Fountain goes unnamed in Tears of the Kingdom.

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Mija's Great Fairy Fountain is located southeast of Tarrey Town in the Akkala Highlands. As its name implies, it is home to the Great Fairy named Mija. The Fountain is surrounded by a shallow pool of Water and a small, unnamed forest. Several residents of Tarrey Town are aware of the Fountain's presence, though they are fearful to approach.[2]

Initially, Mija's Great Fairy Fountain will be closed. When Link approaches the bud, Mija will speak to him from inside, begging that he listen to her story.[3] If he agrees, Mija explains that in the past, travelers would visit the Fountain and make offerings of Rupees, but her power has dwindled now that the offerings have stopped.[4] In order to restore her power, she requests that Link make an offering.[5] Depending on how many other Great Fairy Fountains have received offerings, Mija will ask for either 100 Rupees,[6] 500 Rupees,[7] 1,000 Rupees,[8] or 10,000 Rupees.[9]

Should Link make a payment to Mija, her Great Fairy Fountain will bloom as her power is restored.[10] Once the Fountain has been opened, Mija will be able to enhance Link's Armor, so long as he brings her the necessary Materials.[11] The degree to which Link's Armor can be enhanced depends on how many other Great Fairy Fountains have been opened.[12][13][14][15]
