Mount Lanayru,(BotW | TotK | HWAoC)[1][2][3] also stylized as Mt. Lanayru,(BotW)[4] is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Mount Lanayru is a large mountain located on the southern end of the Lanayru Region in Hyrule. It is considered a sacred site and is home to the Spring of Wisdom at its peak. Unique Ice spikes can also be found on Mount Lanayru at higher elevations. The mountain has a decree, which states, "No one is allowed, under the age of seventeen. For only the wise are permitted a place upon the mountain."[5][6] Due to being a Freezing Climate, Link requires at least two levels Cold Resistance in order to traverse most of Mount Lanayru.

Prior to the second Great Calamity, Link accompanied Zelda as she ascended Mount Lanayru on her 17th birthday so she could pray at the Spring of Wisdom.[7] However, she failed to awaken her sealing power at the Spring.[8][9] The end of their journey can be seen during the "Return of Calamity Ganon" Recovered Memory.

Link must journey to Mount Lanayru as part of "The Spring of Wisdom" Shrine Quest.[10] Upon reaching the summit, Link will find Naydra, the Spring of Wisdom's guardian, possessed by Malice.[11] While freeing Naydra, the Dragon will fly around Mount Lanayru, requiring Link to utilize Updrafts in order to approach it.

Three Korok Seed Puzzles can be found near Mount Lanayru's peak. The first two are Leaves with Fairy Dust that can be uncovered by melting two separate Ice blocks to the northwest. The third Puzzle is to the northeast, where a Rock Pattern must be completed. Once Link completes each of these Puzzles, a Korok will appear and give him a Korok Seed as a reward.[12]
