Biography

Breath of the Wild

Numar is a Hylian who resides in Lurelin Village. During the day, he patrols the beach near the town's western gate. At night, he sleeps in the Village Head's House, which he shares with Rozel. He carries a Fishing Harpoon.

The first time Link speaks to him, Numar says he is unfamiliar and asks if he is sightseeing.[3] If Link is confused by this, Numar explains that they receive many visitors searching for the Lover's Pond, where they hope to find their true love.[4] He then suggests that Link visit.[5] If Link claims not to be a sightseer, Numar once again explains Lover's Pond, but since Link looks like he is popular with the ladies, he says that he probably does not need to go there.[6] When spoken to again, Numar wonders if the people who climb Tuft Mountain to reach Lover's Pond have found love.[7]

During Rain, Numar takes shelter under the umbrellas next to his House.[8] Since he is unable to go fishing during such Weather, he considers going to "test" his luck instead.[9] When Link asks what he means, Numar explains that Cloyne operates a Treasure-Chest Game, which he considers to be fun.[10] Lately, Numar has begun gambling on the Treasure-Chest Game at All or Nothing, but he has not been successful so far.[11] Due to this, he asks Link to lend him 100 Rupees, promising to repay him 1,000 Rupees if he wins.[12] If Link agrees, Numar asks if he is certain, since he will not be able to pay him back if he loses.[13] When Link affirms his decision, Numar is confident he will be able to make their Rupees back, saying to come back the next day to hear the results.[14] If Link refuses his offer, Numar will be saddened that he will have to ask someone else for help.[15]

When Link approaches Numar on the same day, he tells him not to rush, as he will not know the outcome until tomorrow.[16] If Numar loses the Mini-Game, he confesses this to Link and claims to be broke.[17] If Numar wins, he will excitedly share the news with Link.[18] As he promised, he gives Link 1,000 Rupees.[19] Afterwards, Numar admits that he will not stop gambling, and he encourages Link to try the Treasure-Chest Game for himself.[20]

The next time Link speaks to Numar while it is Raining, he thanks Link for helping him before.[21] However, he reveals that he has once again run out of Rupees.[22] Like before, he asks Link for 100 Rupees, promising 1,000 Rupees in return.[23]

Numar returns to the Village Head's House at 10:00 PM every night. When Link approaches him, he says he will be going to sleep and to come back tomorrow.[24] At night, he sleeps in the Bed on the right side of the House.[25]
