Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Ogre Trees are a type of Tree located within the Lost Woods. Their knots and bark resemble faces,[2] several of which contain Treasure Chests in their mouths. Near the entrance to the Lost Woods, Link can find two Stone Chests in the mouths of Ogre Trees, containing a Forest Dweller's Spear and an Opal.

To exit the Korok Forest, Link must enter the mouth of an Ogre Tree, which can be found by following a Sign east of the Pedestal of the Master Sword.[1][3] A nearby Stone Tablet, written by Maca, assures its readers that they will not be eaten by the Tree.[4]

During the "Trial of Second Sight" Shrine Quest, Link must use the Magnesis Rune to spot the metal Boulders in the mouths of Ogre Trees, which will lead him to an Ancient Shrine.[5] Along this path, Link will find a Stone Tablet in front of an Ogre Tree. It asks to be fed a Rusty Shield, promising a reward from its brother.[6] When a Rusty Shield is placed in its mouth, a Treasure Chest containing an Amber will fall out of the mouth of an Ogre Tree nearby. In the middle of Lake Saria, Link will find another Stone Tablet in front of an Ogre Tree. It asks for the return of the Treasure Chest, explaining that it was stolen by the brother.[7] Once the Chest is placed in its mouth, Kuhn Sidajj Shrine will emerge from the ground across the Lake.[8]

As part of the "EX Strange Mask Rumors" Side Quest, which is exclusive to The Master Trials DLC Pack, Link must read the Super Rumor Mill V1. It describes the Korok Mask as being hidden in a Treasure Chest in a Tree hollow in a forest that makes people lose their way.[9] South of the pair of Torches at the entrance to the Lost Woods, Link will find a Hidden Chest in the mouth of an Ogre Tree containing the Korok Mask.[10]

Tears of the Kingdom
