Biography

Breath of the Wild

Pearle is a Gerudo child who resides in Gerudo Town. She and her older sister, Rotana, live in the House next to The Noble Canteen.

According to Rotana, Pearle idolizes Urbosa, the Gerudo Champion.[1] During the day, Pearle can be found running around the market of Gerudo Town. When Link speaks to her, she recognizes him as a "foreign vai" and excitedly greets him.[6] However, she claims that she is currently unable to play with him.[7] If Link asks what she is doing, she reveals that she is pretending to be Urbosa, who she considers to be an amazing person.[8] She also claims that Urbosa saved Gerudo Town from an "evil ghost."[9] Because of Urbosa's feats, Pearle has been inspired to patrol for Monsters every day.[10]

On occasion, Pearle stops to watch the Sand Seals at the Sand-Seal Rental Shop Southeast Booth. She comments that Sue, Nah and Zarashi are doing fine and look cute.[11][12] Pearle can also be found standing at Spera's Stall, where she asks Link if there are Mushroom Rice Balls where he comes from.[13] She explains that they can be made by Cooking Hylian Rice, Rock Salt, and Mushrooms together.[14] Due to how busy Rotana has been with her research, Pearle considers making some for her.[15]

Afterwards, Pearle will ask Link if he is currently going somewhere.[16] If Link confirms that he is, Pearle believes he is going to The Noble Canteen, which she refers to as the "cant-eenter."[17] However, she admits that she is bothered by hearing their voices from her House.[18] If Link claims not to be going anywhere, Pearle warns him to be careful of Heat during the day.[19]

In the evening Pearle and the other children in Gerudo Town gather together. Kalani asks the other three if they are in love.[20] Makure then responds that she wants to attend Ashai's class when she grows up and get married.[21] Pearle then recalls that her mother told her Ashai was unmarried, but she does not know what this means.[2] Lastly, Dalia says that she heard being in love is the sweetest thing in the world, but she does not think she can handle something sweeter than berries.[22]

After Divine Beast Vah Naboris has been calmed, Dalia will start being late to their meetings. Kalani asks the other two if they have heard what happened to Dalia's crops.[23] Makure then reveals that Dalia has not been able to stop crying.[24] Finally, Pearle promises that she will never forgive the person who caused this.[25]

As Pearle returns to her House for the night, she asks Link if he is planning to go out.[26] No matter how Link responds, she believes that he will be going to The Noble Canteen.[27][28] She explains that due to living next door, she can hear the voices of its patrons, which annoys her and Rotana.[3][29]

After she has returned to her House, Pearle will ask Link if he wants to play.[30] If Link accepts, Pearle admits that she cannot play with him, since she has to be home during the night.[31] She claims that Rotana gets mad if she does not make it back in time, but she promises to play with Link in the future.[32] If Link says that he was following Pearle, she recalls that the word for that is "stockings."[33] Pearle says that Rotana taught her that word, and she admires how smart her sister is.[34]

Due to the noise from The Noble Canteen, Pearle does not sleep in her Bed at night, instead standing nearby and staring at her window.[31] When spoken to, she recognizes Link as the "foreign vai" and greets him.[35] She complains that she can hear everything the patrons of the Canteen are saying from her window.[36][37] She vows that when she grows up, she is always going to speak quietly, even if she is having fun.[38]
