Themes and Navigation

The interior of the Shrine

The entrance chamber of Rakashog Shrine is composed of a catwalk with two stairs to its sides. Ahead of the platform, there is a Mirror beneath a Light-sensitive Switch. A Light Beam projects onto the catwalk perpendicular to the Light-sensitive Switch. By redirecting the Light Beam with the Mirror onto the Switch, Link can activate the Switch and open a portcullis to enter the next room.

The second room of the Shrine features a cell with a portcullis and a second Mirror. An opening in the left of the cell allows Link to pass a Mirror through it. Inside the cell, there is a second Light Beam pointing directly toward the center of the cell's floor and another Light-sensitive Switch along the right-hand wall of the cell. When the Switch is activated, the portcullis will lift and allow Link to enter the third room of the Shrine.

The third room is divided into two levels. On the lower level, there sits a lone Mirror and a depression in the floor along the far wall with two ramps leading down to it. At the base of this depression, there is an upward-facing Light-sensitive Switch. When activated, the Switch will cause the portion of the floor it sits on to rise up toward the second level before looping back down to create an elevator platform. The second level contains another Mirror beside a Stone Box and the hallway leading to the fourth room. Along the far-side wall there is a small chamber with a Treasure Chest that is blocked by a portcullis controlled by a Light-sensitive Switch above it. This Switch can be activated by carrying a Light Beam from the fourth room to it.

The fourth room consists of another ceiling-mounted Light Beam protected by Soldier Constructs. A divider separates the room into two halves. In front of the divider, there are two Mirrors, and a set of stairs can be found behind it. Along the wall behind the divider, there is a final Light-sensitive Switch holding a portcullis to the end of the Shrine. By chaining Mirrors, Link can carry the Light Beam to the Switch and reach the end of the Shrine.

A Statue of Rauru and Sonia can be found at the end of the Rakashog Shrine. By interacting with the Terminal in front of the Statue, Link can receive a Light of Blessing to cleanse the corruption of Darkness from within him.[3][4]
