Royal Claymores are part of the Royal Gear series. They are two-handed Weapons intended to be wielded by the Royal Family of Hyrule and the Royal Guard.[1] Being struck by one of these Claymores is said to destroy one's body and their resolve.[1] They have a base attack damage of 52.

Royal Claymores are scattered throughout Hyrule. They can be found on the necklaces of Hinoxes. Stalnox can also drop Royal Claymores when they are defeated, particularly the one within Lockup. Other high-tier enemies, such as Silver Moblins, make use of them.

Royal Claymores can also be found in the following locations:

When the following amiibos are scanned with the amiibo Rune, they have a chance to spawn a Treasure Chest containing a Royal Claymore:

If a Royal Claymore is equipped during a Thunderstorm, it will attract Lightning due to being made of metal. Similarly, they are capable of conducting Electricity. They can also be picked up using the Magnesis Rune on the Sheikah Slate, and they will sink if they are dropped in Water. They are incapable of burning, which means they can be exposed to Fire and Scorching Climates without issue.

Royal Claymores belong to the Royal Gear equipment archetype, an intricate set of Weapons designed for the Royal Family of Hyrule.[4]
