Rushrooms are purple Mushrooms that can be commonly found growing on mountains and cliffs, mainly in the Gerudo Highlands and the Hyrule Ridge. They can also be purchased at the Spore Store in the Great Hyrule Forest. When Rushrooms are eaten raw, they will provide Link with half of a Heart of healing. Dishes made in a Cooking Pot using a Rushroom will grant Link a temporary speed boost.[1] Rushrooms that are burned using Fire turn into Toasty Rushrooms. They can also be used at the Kochi Dye Shop to create Purple Dye.

Rushrooms, like other mushrooms, can be used in a Cooking Pot to create Cream of Mushroom Soup, a Fish and Mushroom Skewer, Fragrant Mushroom Sauté, Fruit and Mushroom Mix, Glazed Mushrooms, a Meat and Mushroom Skewer, a Mushroom Omelet, Mushroom Rice Balls, Mushroom Risotto, a Mushroom Skewer, Copious Mushrooms Skewers, Salt-Grilled Mushrooms, and Steamed Mushrooms.

Pirou at the Gerudo Canyon Stable has eaten Rushrooms everyday since he was five and now can't live without them.[4][5] The Side Quest "Rushroom Rush!" requires Link to gather fifty-five Rushrooms for Pirou in exchange for a Diamond.[6] Afterwards, Link can trade fifty-five Rushrooms with Pirou and receive a payment of twice their regular value.

Three Rushrooms are required to upgrade each piece of the Climbing Set to the first tier at a Great Fairy Fountain. Fifteen Rushrooms are needed to upgrade both Sand Boots and Snow Boots to their third tier.
