Characteristics

Ocarina of Time

Oracle of Seasons

In Oracle of Seasons, Shallow Water primarily appears bordering Deep Water. During Summer, lakes and rivers will dry up and turn into areas of Shallow Water.

Four Swords

In Four Swords, Shallow Water appears next to Deep Water. It serves as the only means of exiting Deep Water back to dry land.

The Minish Cap

In The Minish Cap, Shallow Water typically appears along shorelines or in wet areas. While normally harmless, Shallow Water becomes deadly to Mini Link who will drown without the Flippers.

Breath of the Wild

In Breath of the Wild, Shallow Water appears along the shorelines of bodies of water, and most often transitioning into Deep Water. Shallow Water also features prominently in marshy areas such as the Lanayru Wetlands. While not deep enough for swimming, Shallow Water still allows for the use of Cryonis and may be electrified by using Items such as Shock Arrows.
