Shark Island
Shark Island is one of the islands of the Great Sea in The Wind Waker.
Features and Overview
The island looks like a shark (hence, the name) and it contains a secret cave surrounded by fire.[1] To extinguish this fire, Link must press four switches in any order. The first switch to be activated is a floor switch at the "head" of the shark. The second one is located on the "bottom flipper," but it must be hit with the Skull Hammer. Next, on the "top flipper," there is a crystal switch that can be activated by just slashing it with the sword. The final switch is at the "tail" and needs to be pressed down with the Iron Boots.[1] Once all these switches have been pressed, the fire will go away. In the cave, there are hordes of Bokoblins and Miniblins, as well as Moblins, Darknuts, and two Wizzrobes. A Treasure Chest containing 200 Rupees will appear once all these enemies are defeated.[1]
As in Northern Triangle Island and the Mother & Child Isles, Cyclos can be found near the island, thus it has been known to have raging cyclones. It is also one of the 22 islands in the game that has a Blue ChuChu on it; however, this island's is placed in a very high spot, so Link will need the power of a nearby mini-cyclone (which appears only after the island's four switches were pressed) to reach there.
This island is the location the Korok Irch chose to plant one of the Great Deku Tree's seeds.
