The Dark World is a location in Four Swords Adventures.[1]

Features and Overview

The Dark World appears as an area separate from the Dark World accessed via Moon Gates. It is located in northwestern Hyrule, and serves as the fifth Level, consisting of three stages: the Lost Woods, Kakariko Village, and the Temple of Darkness. As in other Levels, Tingle's Tower appears in multiplayer mode.

In search of the Dark Mirror, the Links venture here, where a cloud of darkness has covered Hyrule.[2] This darkness turned the Lost Woods, once called the Forest of Light, into a dark place inhabited by fell creatures.[3] While it is originally thought that the darkness was spread by Vaati and Shadow Link, who have been running rampant throughout Hyrule, the Deku Scrubs in the forest reveal that Ganon is its true source.[4][5] When the Links leave the Lost Woods and travel to Kakariko Village, they find that the town, and even many of its citizens, has been corrupted by the darkness – a corruption that threatened to spread across all of Hyrule if it is not stopped.[6] After aiding Kakariko Village, the Links go to the Temple of Darkness, where the Dark Mirror was hidden to keep it away from the rest of the world.[7] After they clear the Temple of Darkness, they discover that the Dark Mirror is the source of the Shadow Links, and has been taken.[8]
