Trilby Plain is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Trilby Plain is a small clearing on the southwestern edge of the Eldin Canyon, located southeast of Woodland Stable. Trilby Valley is found directly to the east, with Zelo Pond between them. A hill with a large Tree on top of it can be found at the center of the Plain, and a shallow pond is placed at its base. On the northern end of Trilby Plain is a grove of Trees. On the southeastern edge of Trilby Plain are the remains of an unnamed village, consisting of burnt Ruined Houses, that was destroyed during the Great Calamity.[4] Near Thims Bridge, a Sign offers directions to Hyrule Ridge, Zora's Domain, and Akkala.[5]

The Shield Breakers, a Shield Surfing gang, make their home on Trilby Plain.[6] Fin resides at a campsite near Thims Bridge, which contains a Campfire. When Link speaks to him, he asks if he is there to Shield Surf.[7][8] If Link claims that he is, he will automatically be transported to the top of the hill, where he will find Russ standing under the Tree. He sells a variety of Shields in order to fund the Shield Breaker.[9] He encourages Link to Shield Surf down the hill, since he believes it is suited for beginners.[10]

In the ruined village, a Treasure Chest can be found in one of the Ruined Houses. When Link opens it, he will receive a Ruby.

Three Korok Seed Puzzles can be found on Trilby Plain. The first is a Race, which starts on top of the large Tree on the hill. It ends in the pond below, and Link must Shield Surf in order to reach it in time. The second takes the form of Leaves with Fairy Dust that move around the pond, which Link can interact with. The final Puzzle is a Cube Pattern in the ruined village, the two of which must be matched. When Link completes each of these Puzzles, a Korok will appear and give him a Korok Seed.[11]
