White Wolf
The White Wolf is a character in Twilight Princess.[1][note 1]
Biography
The White Wolf is the lustrous manifestation of the late Hero of Time's soul in Hyrule.[4] He is summoned whenever Wolf Link successfully howls at a Howling Stone that is marked by the Crest of the Sheikah.
When Link approaches the White Wolf as a Hylian, he will pounce on the hero and transport him to an ethereal realm. Here, the White Wolf will transform into his Stalfos form, known as the Hero's Spirit, to test Link's swordsmanship. The White Wolf will refuse to speak to Link if he appears in his Wolf form, urging him to return as a Human instead.

Notes
- ↑ The White Wolf is also known as the Golden Wolf in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess—The Official Nintendo Player's Guide by Nintendo Power and the Spirit Wolf in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess—PRIMA Official Game Guide by Prima Games.[2][3] However, as these names contradict its name in Encyclopedia, they are not considered canon.
