The Ze Kasho Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Ze Kasho Apparatus,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

The Ze Kasho Shrine can be found on a ridge above the South Akkala Stable. When Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he will hear its Monk, Ze Kasho, introduce the trial.[2]

Themes and Navigation

At the start of the Ze Kasho Shrine, Link will find a Motion Control Puzzle and a platform with Floor Spike all across it. Below this platform is a bottomless pit. When Link takes interacts with the Motion Control Puzzle, he will be able to move the platform. However, the Floor Spike will also move along rails as the platform is tilted. Link must tilt the platform in a certain way so that he has a path through the Floor Spike.

The next room has several lasers shooting across it, in addition to two black platforms embedded in the ground. When Link hits the nearby Crystal, the platforms will flip themselves, which temporarily blocks the lasers. While they are blocked, Link will be able to move forward. However, the platforms will rotate too quickly for Link to cross in one movement. In order to cross entirely, he must again hit the Crystal by throwing a Weapon or shooting it with a Bow.

At the end of this passageway, a Treasure Chest containing a Silverscale Spear can be found on a high platform to the right of the exit door. To acquire the Weapon, Link must again hit the Crystal with a ranged attack and quickly jump onto the nearby platform that rotates along the walkway. Once the platform stops at its highest point, Link can use the Paraglider to glide to the platform that holds the Treasure Chest.

In the final room, Link must again take control of a Motion Control Puzzle. In this one, he must roll three Ancient Orbs to hit three Floor Switches. Once all are activated at the same time, the door to Ze Kasho's Monk's Pedestal will open.

When Link approaches the Monk's Pedestal, Ze Kasho will commend him for overcoming the trial and give him a Spirit Orb.[3] Afterwards, the Monk will wish Link well before disappearing.[4]
