Calcium deposits in the scales of this ancient fish make them as hard as armor. Cooking it into a dish will fortify your bones, temporarily increasing your defense.

Armored Carps are a type of Fish found in bodies of freshwater throughout Hyrule. Large deposits of calcium within their scales cause them to be as hard as armor.[1] Because of this, Cooking them into a dish will grant the consumer a boosted defense.[1] Once caught, they can be eaten raw to restore one Heart worth of health, or they can be cooked into Roasted Carp or frozen into Frozen Carp.
