Blue Darknuts are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][note 1]

Characteristics

The Legend of Zelda

In The Legend of Zelda, Blue Darknuts are stronger than their Red counterparts. They are able to shield themselves from any attack and are thus invulnerable if attacked from the front.[3] Link can harm them by attacking them from the side or behind with either his Sword or a Bomb. Blue Darknuts cannot be stunned by the Boomerang and they cannot be harmed by the Magical Rod, Arrows, or Fire. They have a health of eight. When defeated, Blue Darknuts may drop either a Heart, one Rupee, or a Fairy.[note 2]

Oracle of Seasons

Blue Darknuts appear in Oracle of Seasons acting like Darknuts in Link's Awakening, either throwing spears or charging at Link with their sword.

Oracle of Ages

Blue Darknuts appear in Oracle of Ages acting like Darknuts in Link's Awakening, either throwing spears or charging at Link with their sword.

Notes

  1. Blue Darknuts were referred to as Blue Knights in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages—Official Strategy Guide by BradyGames.[2] However, as this contradicts the name given in Encyclopedia, it is not considered Canon.
  2. If Link defeats 10 enemies without getting hit or teleporting with the Flute, then the 10th enemy defeated will drop five Rupees. However, if the 10th enemy is defeated with a Bomb, then it will drop four Bombs. If Link defeats 16 enemies without getting hit or teleporting, then the 16th enemy will drop a Fairy. After the 16th enemy, Link must get hit and reset the counter to zero in order to achieve this effect again. Defeating Armos, Like Likes, Keese, or Gels will not be counted.[4]
