Lurelin Village

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia

Lurelin Village is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Overview

Breath of the Wild

Lurelin Village is a seaside town located at the western end of the Faron Highroad in East Necluda.[note 1] Many of its Houses are simple wooden huts, which have been built around the Palm Trees indigenous to the area. The residents also make use of wooden platforms and Docks, one of which is located along a freshwater pond on the western end of the Village. There is also a small pasture within Lurelin Village where Hateno Cows are kept, and Yah Rin Shrine can be found on a cliff overlooking the Village.

Lurelin Village subsists itself by catching Fish, which is an industry most of men Village's men participate in.[5] During the Great Calamity, Lurelin Village avoided being overtaken by the Guardians' assault due to its distance from Hyrule Castle.[6][7] As a result of this, it has gained popularity as a resort location in modern times.[8]

Like other settlements in Hyrule Kingdom, Lurelin Village features a Goddess Statue, which is located west of the Fishing Resort. There, Link can exchange four Spirit Orbs for a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.[9] Three Side Quests are also available at Lurelin Village, those being "Sunken Treasure",[10] "What's for Dinner?",[11] and "Take Back the Sea".[12]

When the "Captured Memories" Main Quest is active and "Find the Fairy Fountain has been completed, Pikango can be found painting in Lurelin Village. When spoken to, Pikango is able to identify the eighth Picture in Link's Album as the cloisters of Hyrule Castle.[13]

Excluding those used in the Treasure-Chest Game, a total of five Treasure Chests are hidden in Lurelin Village. The first in a metal Chest south of Yah Rin Shrine that can be found by befriending the local Hylian Retriever, and it contains a Star Fragment.[14] The other four Treasure Chests are also made of metal, but they have been submerged in the Village's bay. In all, these Chests contain a bundle of five Fire Arrows, two Ambers, and one Purple Rupee.

One Korok Seed Puzzles can be found within Lurelin Village. It takes the form of an Archery Puzzle, marked by an Apple in the Palm Tree above Rozel and Numar's House on the western end of the Village. When Link shoots the Apple with an Arrow, a Korok will appear and give him a Korok Seed.[15]

Notes

  1. In Creating a Champion, Lurelin Village is shown on a map to be part of the Faron Region.[3] However, this contradicts the game's file data for the location, which considers it to be part of East Necluda.[4] Therefore, this is not considered Canon.
