Red Wisp,(FSFour Swords | TMCThe Minish Cap)[1] also known as Whisps,(OoSOracle of Seasons | OoAOracle of Ages)[1] are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.

Characteristics

Oracle of Seasons

Oracle of Ages

Four Swords

The Minish Cap

Red Wisps slowly move through areas in erratic, random patterns. They do not inflict any damage to Link, but will Curse him so that he is unable to use any of his items for a time. When Link makes contact with a Red Wisp, it disappears and its flames surround him for as long as the Curse lasts. When the Curse ends, the Red Wisp reappears. They cannot be attacked directly, but can be sucked up into the Gust Jar, or defeated by shooting Arrows at them. Throwing the Boomerang at them will make them disappear, though they will reappear once Link leaves and enters the area again.
