Tauro is the leader of the Zonai Survey Team, having been chosen to lead it by Princess Zelda.[4] He is very knowledgeable about the Zonai and can even read their language.[5] Tauro is from Lurelin Village in southeast Hyrule.[6]
In Kakariko Village, Tauro can be found at three locations. Between 12:00 AM and 10:00 AM Tauro will be located at the top of the cliff near the Floating Ring Ruin. From 10:00 AM to 12:00AM, he will be observing the Ruin from the ground. During Rain, he can be found inside the Zonai Survey Team Base.
If Link approaches him while not wearing any Armor on his torso, Tauro will ask him if he is feeling bold.[7] The leader of the Zonai Survey Team then sympathises with Link, saying that he would run around in just his "unmentionables" if not for the decorum required in his field and around Paya.[8] He adds that he would not bother so much with his outfit otherwise.[9] After this, Tauro declares that he is glad to have found a kindred spirit in Link.[10]
