During the ""Voe and You" Is in Session" Side Quest, the Gerudo are looking for Materials for their "Voe and You" class.[3] After receiving the needed Materials, it is revealed that unlike in Breath of the Wild, "Voe and You" focuses on self defense instead of romance.[30]
"Voe and You"
"Voe and You" is a recurring event in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]
Overview
Breath of the Wild
"Voe and You" is a class run by Ashai in the Relationship Classroom of Gerudo Town. It is designed to prepare young Gerudo women for interacting with men they may meet outside of Gerudo Town.[4][5] Pasha, Dina, and Risa all take the class, though Risa claims she is only there for a refresher.[6] When Link speaks to Ashai in the Classroom, she will ask if he wishes to observe the class.[7]
If Link chooses to observe "Voe and You", Ashai will begin the class so they can show off what they have learned.[8] First, she poses a scenario that her students are approached by a handsome man while walking down the street.[9] Pasha responds that she would wave casually, but stay prepared in the case that he is a bandit wanting to ambush her.[10] Ashai says this is a good approach to a new situation, but she informs them that a man may appear suspicious due to being nervous around a Gerudo.[11] Dina goes next, saying she would greet him enthusiastically and with her hands clearly empty.[12] Ashai comments on her optimism and tells her it could put a stranger at ease.[13] Lastly, Risa tells her she would walk casually towards him before striking him when he least expects it.[14] Ashai informs her this would be a crime.[15]
Ashai's second question asks her students what they would do if they found an injured man lying on the ground.[16] Pasha claims she would carry him to the nearest person who could treat him.[17] Ashai finds this to be a proactive approach but reminds her to check for non-visible injuries before doing so.[18] Dina then states that she would determine what was wrong with him a make a medicine for his treatment.[19] Ashai finds this to be a good answer, she tells her to keep potential allergies in mind.[20] Risa goes last, where she reveals she would take the man home to help him recover.[21] While Ashai finds this sentiment sweet, she also tells Risa that it is basically kidnapping.[22]
For her final question, Ashai asks her students what they would do if they were approached by a man whose attention they have sought.[23] Pasha goes first and says she would pretend not to know his language.[24] Ashai finds this interesting, as it could spark curiosity from someone, but reminds her that the man may know the language she is pretending to.[25] Next, Dina states that she would take the opportunity to figure out his social standing on the basis of his clothing.[26] Ashai praises Dina's thinking, but tells her that people may wear more casual clothes if their good ones are dirty.[27] Finally, Risa says she would grab the man's hand and twist it until he agreed to marry her.[28] Though Ashai is initially shocked, she then tells Risa to speak to her after class.[29]
Tears of the Kingdom
In Tears of the Kingdom, "Voe and You" mas moved to the Cave Near the Goddess Statue in the Gerudo Shelter beneath Gerudo Town. In addition to the adult classes in the evenings, Ashai now teaches a version for children during the day.[citation needed] The children's class is attended by Dalia, Kalani, and Pearle. Due to Gerudo law forbidding children from interacting with men, Link is not allowed to observe this class.

To be perfectly honest, I'm only taking Ms. Ashai's class as a kind of refresher course... But I still have to study.
— Risa (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh... Are you interested in sitting in on my class "Voe and You"? It may even teach you a thing or two!
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Attention, everyone! Let's get started! We can show this cute vai what we've been learning in class!
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Now then... You're walking down the street on your way somewhere, and a handsome voe you've never met approaches...
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would wave casually to him but also keep myself prepared in case he's a distraction for a bandit ambush!
— Pasha (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Excellent thinking, Pasha! That's a prudent approach to a new situation. Remember that sometimes voe may look suspicious but are just being wary due to the sight of a daunting Gerudo.
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would enthusiastically greet him, approaching with a smile and with my hands clearly empty!
— Dina (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Wow, Dina, that's a very optimistic approach to take! Being overtly friendly is an excellent way to put the stranger's mind at ease!
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would walk casually toward him and then strike a fierce blow when he least suspected it!
— Risa (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Risa... That would be a crime...

In your travels, you come upon an injured voe lying on the ground. What do you do?
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I immediately lift him up over my shoulder and carry him to the nearest person who can treat him!
— Pasha (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
That's a very proactive answer, Pasha! Always be aware that an injured person may have non-visible injuries before you move them, though!
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would determine what was the matter and make a medicine on the spot to treat him!
— Dina (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Great answer, Dina! Just be careful that the voe doesn't have some sort of allergy to the ingredients in your medicine!
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would secretly bring him back to my home, where I could help him gradually recover!
— Risa (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Risa...
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild)
A sweet sentiment...
But also basically kidnapping. - ↑
You are suddenly approached by a voe whose attention you've sought, and he abruptly engages you in conversation.
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Hrm... I would pretend that I don't know how to speak his language.
— Pasha (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
That's an interesting approach, Pasha! You could inspire some curiosity in the voe by doing that... Remember: it isn't unrealistic that the voe may actually speak the language you pretend to know, too!
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would take the up-close opportunity to determine his social standing based on the clothes he's wearing!
— Dina (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Ah, good thinking, Dina. Just remember that sometimes all of someone's good clothes are dirty, so they might wear something more casual.
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh! I would grab the man's hand and twist his wrist until he agreed to marry me!
— Risa (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Wha... You'd... Risa... Let's talk after class.
— Ashai (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
You learned that "Voe and You" was primarily focused on self defense! In retrospect, it's hardly surprising that martial prowess would factor into every aspect of Gerudo life.
