"A Freezing Rod" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Overview
In the Korok Forest, Link can encounter the Korok Kula. Kula welcomes him to the forest,[2] remarking that he is much cooler than he thought.[3] He reveals that he prepared a trial for Link to ensure that he is up to his task as a hero.[4] He asks Link if he is willing to accept his trial.[5]
If Link accepts Kula's trial, Kula requests that he show him a Rod with the power of Ice.[6] He goes on to explain that these Rods can freeze Enemies, and they are commonly wielded by Ice Wizzrobes.[7] Kula says that Link would be stronger and cooler if he had one.[8]
Link can return to Kula once he obtains an Ice Rod.[9] If Link does not have the Rod equipped, Kula tells him to do so.[10] Kula enjoys how sparkly the Ice Rod is.[11] He thanks Link, giving him a Silver Rupee as a reward.[12]
Kula will also accept a Blizzard Rod for this Side Quest.[13] As a reward, Kula will give Link a Gold Rupee.
