"A New Champion's Tunic" is a Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
Inside Zelda's Secret Well in Hateno Village, Link can come upon Zelda's Diary on her desk. Within the Diary, Zelda reveals that she has commissioned a new Tunic of Memories for Link, since she has noticed his old one has become worn.[2] In order to keep him from discovering it during their expedition Beneath Hyrule Castle, Zelda hid the new Tunic in the Throne Room of Hyrule Castle.[3] She also wrote that the Throne Room's Torches are the key to revealing its hiding place.[4] After reading Zelda's Diary, the "A New Champion's Tunic" Side Quest will begin.
The remaining throne in Hyrule Castle's Throne Room is flanked on either side by a pair of stationary Torches. Striking Flint, Fire Fruit, or Red Chuchu Jelly on these Torches will cause them to ignite. Once both Torches have been lit, the statue behind the throne will move to the side, revealing an Iron Treasure Chest in its pedestal. Using Ultrahand, Link can pull out the Chest and open it, receiving the Champion's Leathers from inside. Afterwards, "A New Champion's Tunic" will be completed.
