Anube is a young Hylian man who lives in Seesyde Village with his mother. He can be found sleeping in the Woods to the North, which are located north of Seesyde Village. According to his mother, he spends most of his time either asleep or eating.[3]
When Princess Zelda speaks to Anube, he talks in his sleep about the snack his mother is supposed to bring him.[4] During the Side Quest "Deliver the Grilled Fish!", Anube's mother is annoyed that he has not returned from the Woods for his meal. As a result, she asks Zelda to bring him the Grilled Fish that she prepared.[1]
If Zelda tries to present Anube with the Echo of a Grilled Fish, he acknowledges that it smells good, but since it was not made by his mother, he is not interested.[5] When Zelda brings him the Fish made by his mother, its scent will wake him up.[6] He is grateful for her assistance, and he proceeds to eat the Fish.[7] He comments on the Fish's taste as he consumes it, claiming that both it and his mother are the best.[8] Once he is done, he decides to take another nap, and he requests that Zelda thank his mother on his behalf.[9]
Should Zelda approach Anube afterwards, he will be having a nightmare about his mother cooking Tanglers instead of Fish, as he believes them to be "gross".[10]
