Basa speaking to Zelda

When Princess Zelda encounters Basa, he will be eager to work on his Fireworks.[4][5] If Zelda approaches him, he introduces himself to her.[3] He reveals that he is supposed to show off a new type of Firework as part of a celebration for Darston, the new Goron Chief, but he has not been able to come up with any ideas.[6] Since Darston requested them himself, he feels as though he must deliver.[7][8] In addition to this, he has run out of Blastpowder Soil, which he needs in order to make Fireworks.[9] He is unable to retrieve it himself as he needs to develop the new Firework.[10] When Zelda asks, Basa explains that Blastpowder can be found higher up on Eldin Volcano, as well as that golden Flowers typically grow around it.[11] Following this conversation, the Side Quest "The Fireworks Artist" will begin.

If Zelda speaks to Basa while the Side Quest is active, he states that he has not seen any golden Flowers near Goron City recently, so he believes Blastpowder Soil must be further up Eldin Volcano.[12] Upon returning to Basa with Blastpowder Soil, he will be able to smell it and asks if she brought it for him.[13] He is grateful for her kindness, which inspires him to adjust the ratio of Blastpowder he uses in Fireworks to change their colors.[14] He believes that this will be a perfect way to celebrate Darston.[15][16] He then proceeds to develop his new Fireworks.[17]

After setting up his Fireworks on Eldin Volcano, Basa invites Zelda to have a front-row seat as a reward for her help.[18] He then begins his show by lighting his Fireworks.[19] The Gorons watching all enjoy watching them, and Darston comments on Basa's skill.[20] Afterwards, Basa is pleased that everyone liked the new Fireworks.[21][22] To thank Zelda for her help, he gives her a Purple Rupee.[23] From this experience, Basa has learned not to overextend himself, and he states he will be honest if he finds himself in trouble again.[24] Once "The Fireworks Artist" has been completed, Basa returns to his quarters. When spoken to, he thanks Zelda for her assistance, and he reveals his plans to work on new Fireworks to bring joy to others.[25]
