Overview

Battle Challenges are located in the Slumber Dojo in Kakariko Village. In order to play, Princess Zelda must speak to Shisho inside.

Gameplay and Rules

Battle Challenges involve defeating sets of Enemies in various locations from Princess Zelda's past within a set goal time. There is no fee for attempting a Battle Challenge. Zelda may exceed the time limit, although she will not be given a reward. Additionally, each Battle Challenge has a maximum amount of time that Zelda can use per attempt. For instance, Zelda will be awoken after 10 minutes if she has not completed the "Blank-Slate Battle" Battle Challenge and she will be accused of using the time to rest instead of training. Similarly, she will be awoken if she falls in battle in her sleep.

If Zelda agrees to undergo training, she will be presented a list of Battle Challenges that reflect her progress throughout her journey. For instance, the "Flow of Battle" Battle Challenge will only appear once she has cleared the Jabul Ruins. If Zelda completes a Battle Challenge within the goal time, she will be given a reward. Additionally, if she completes the Battle Challenge within a hidden goal time, she will be given an additional reward. The rewards vary based on the Battle Challenge, and Zelda can only receive a given reward for exceeding each threshold once. If Zelda meets the hidden threshold again after receiving its first reward, she will be given the same reward at a reduced quantity. Completing a Battle Challenge a second time under the goal time but without meeting the hidden goal time yields no reward and results in Shisho encouraging her to do it even faster.

The Slumber Dojo also offers cumulative rewards for completing a total number of Battle Challenges.
