"Beetle Ballyhoo" is a Side Quest in Echoes of Wisdom.[1]
Overview
Once Princess Zelda has finished the Main Quest "Still Missing", she can find the Gerudo Soldier Raslett talking to herself outside of her House in Gerudo Town.[2] If Zelda approaches Raslett, she recognizes her as the person who mended the Gerudo Desert's Rifts.[3] She then reveals that she has a favor to ask her.[4] After considering it for a moment, she decides that she does not want anyone else to hear her, so she invites Zelda into her House.[5]
Inside, Raslett asks Zelda if she has ever encountered Beetles.[6] Recently, Raslett has been tasked with dispatching Beetle Mounds.[7] However, Raslett is afraid of Beetles and cannot stand the sight of them, and her friends are unable to help her.[8] As a result, she asks Zelda to destroy the Mounds for her, promising a reward in return.[9] She gives Zelda directions to the Cave where the Mounds can be found, though she also warns her of the Boarblins that inhabit the area.[10] Afterwards, "Beetle Ballyhoo" will begin.
The Beetle Mounds that Zelda must deal with are located in a Cave northeast of Gerudo Town. There are a total of four Mounds. Zelda can destroy them by striking them while in Swordfighter Form, having the Echo of a Monster attack them, or throwing an Object at them.
When Zelda returns to Raslett's House, she will still be upset.[2] Upon informing her that the Beetle Mounds are gone, Raslett will be grateful for Zelda's help.[11] To reward Zelda, she gives her the Heart Barrette, which is her prized possession made by a Gerudo artisan.[12] At that moment, Raslett's commander will enter the House.[13] She wants to talk to Raslett about the Beetle Mounds, and Raslett claims she was about to inform her that she destroyed them.[14] The commander is impressed by Raslett's abilities, and as a result, she plans on having her destroy more Mounds in the future.[15] She then leaves. Raslett feels bad that taking credit for Zelda's actions led her commander to putting her trust in her.[16] She is inspired to get over her fear of Beetles so that she can meet her superior's expectations.[17] Following this, "Beetle Ballyhoo" will be completed.
