The Castle Town Prison is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Castle Town Prison is a set of ruins located on the island of Hyrule Castle West in Hyrule Field. It is a desolate area with many charred Trees and building supports. The inactive remains of two Fallen Guardians, which can be searched for Ancient Materials, can be found near the northern and southern ends of the Prison. A Raft is tied to the end of the Dock on the north side of the ruins.

At the start of the second Great Calamity, the Castle Town Prison and its prisoners were destroyed by Guardians, as they did not have enough time to react to being attacked.[3] Most of the structure was burned, but its stone walls survived despite being severely damaged.[3]

As part of the "EX Treasure: Fairy Clothes" Side Quest, which is exclusive to The Master Trials DLC Pack, Link reads Misko's EX Journal to learn the location of Tingle's Outfit.[4] The Book claims that one of the Armor pieces can be found "at the ruins where sinners were imprisoned."[5] At the center of the Castle Town Prison, Link can locate a metal EX Treasure Chest embedded in the ground, which can be pulled free using the Magnesis Rune. Inside, Link will find Tingle's Shirt.[6]

Two additional Treasure Chests can be found within the Castle Town Prison. The first is a stone Chest atop the Prison's southern wall, which contains an Ancient Arrow. Atop the northern wall, Link can find another stone Treasure Chest containing a Knight's Bow.

There are a total of two Korok Seed Puzzles in the Castle Town Prison. The first is an Offering Spot at the center of the ruins, marked by three Stone Statues. Link must place a Rusty Shield in the empty Spot. The second is a Cube Pattern on the north end of the Prison. When Link completes each of these Puzzles, a Korok will appear and give him a Korok Seed.[7]
