The Champion's Leathers are an Item in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Location and Uses
The Champion's Leathers serve as a replacement for the Champion's Tunic, which is destroyed during Link and Zelda's encounter with Ganondorf Beneath Hyrule Castle. Upon reading Zelda's Diary in her Secret Well in Hateno Village, Link learns that she was planning to surprise him with the Champion's Leathers, having noticed that his original Tunic had become worn during their travels.[2] To keep the Leathers a secret, she hid them in the Throne Room of Hyrule Castle, with a pair of Torches being the key to reveal them.[3] Reading this Book starts the "A New Champion's Tunic" Side Quest. When Link lights both of the Torches in the Throne Room, the statue behind the thrones will shift to the side, revealing a metallic Treasure Chest inside its pedestal. Upon opening the Chest, Link will receive the Champion's Leathers.[4]
When worn, the Champion's Leathers gives Link the ability to shoot sword beams from the Master Sword regardless of current hit points. The Champion's Leathers has the highest potential defense of any Armor present in the game, with a maximum defense of 32.
