Cheval is a character in Oracle of Ages.[2]

Biography

Cheval was an old inventor who lived in his House south of Lynna Village in the past. He is met once by Link on his journey, when Link was searching for the Cheval Rope. At the time, Cheval had not finished his rope, and was optimistic that he would finish it before his death. His ultimate goal was to create a rope that would not deteriorate when wet.[3]

Cheval was successful, and did manage to finish it before his death, as well as a swimming aid, the Zora's Flippers. When Cheval died, a pair of Zora's Flippers and a coil of Cheval Rope were buried with him in his Grave. With these inventions, Cheval was a huge help to Link, who could not swim without the flippers, or reach Crescent Island without the rope.
