The Cobble are an ancient race that once formed the Cobble Kingdom in Phantom Hourglass. The remains of the Cobble Kingdom are found hidden beneath the water on the Isle of Ruins, where the seventh Dungeon, Mutoh's Temple, is found. Some of the Cobble race are gifted with powers of premonition. These powers can increase even after death.[1]

Civilization

The Cobble race once ruled a large portion of the World of the Ocean King, until its mysterious fall.[2] They were expert architects, constructing the pyramids and tombs on the Isle of Ruins and the mechanical creation Eox that Link battles inside Mutoh's Temple. The Cobble people were likely excellent swordsmiths as well, as Zauz tells of how his ancestors would forge Swords to defend the Oshus against great evil.[3]

The Cobble Kingdom was a monarchy, ruled by its leader King Mutoh, who was served by four Knights: Brant, Bremeur, Doylan, and Max. It had its own group of Sages, as the graves of nine of them are marked on the Isle of the Dead.

Origin

The Cobble Kingdom takes heavy inspiration from ancient Egyptian civilization, as its primary form of architecture is the pyramid and its knights dress in an Egyptian fashion, along with being long dead.

Nomenclature

The Cobble Kingdom's name is likely derived from cobblestones, an antiquated stone material used primarily in construction of buildings, walls, and roads, especially in ancient times.
