Community:Zelda World
Zelda World was launched July 31st, 2010 by Skermefaten and AppHunter. The site started out quite small but started to grow and improve after a series of events. Eventually, it ended up merging with Zelda Eternity.
History
In 2009, a site called Zelda Stuff was created. However, it was barely updated and was forgotten. The following year, the webmasters decided to recreate the site, naming it Zelda World. It began with a simple layout, but in September 2010, Kerny of Wii Zelda created Version 2 for the site.
In August 2010, Zant joined as the site's first staff member, and he was a great addition to the team. Many ideas for the site came from Zant himself. Over time, ZW held streams and gained much traffic, especially following the Winter Stream held in mid-December. They also gained three more staff members before the end of 2010. On February 19-20, 2011, Zelda World and Zelda Eternity held a joint stream in celebration of the 25th anniversary. Afterward, the forums launched.
Soon after, Callum left, and Prince Deity joined, as well as JuicyJ. The site has been keeping up-to-date with the latest news and slowly began releasing new content through a new weekly update system.
On July 27, 2011, Zelda World merged with Zelda Eternity. According to Skermefaten, he was no longer "in a position to be able to run the site anymore". However, some of Zelda World's staff became staff at Zelda Eternity, and Skermefaten became a new webmaster of the site.[1]
Content
Zelda World is working on game content for the Zelda games. Since they are still a fairly young site, they do not have complete sections like bigger sites, but content is being worked on and will show itself soon. Currently, they have a few guides for Ocarina of Time, and a Twilight Princess Video Walkthrough.
Also, Zelda World began a small project where Nick would write a detailed article about every canon race in the world of Zelda. Nick releases these articles about every other week currently.
25th Anniversary Celebration
Zelda World and Zelda Eternity held a joint stream, where Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda were completed. The stream was successful and the forums for Zelda World was launched shortly after the stream.
Mailbag
Following the anniversary celebration, Zelda World began its mailbag which was originally hosted by KickinBird71 (now hosted by DodongoBomber). The mailbag usually appears either weekly or almost as often. In it, DodongoBomber answers questions he receives from fans and sometimes mentions certain important matters related to the site at the moment.
