Overview

Related Quests

Dampé's Journal! is a Book that can be found inside Dampé Studio. It belongs to Dampé, who uses it to store his designs and notes about Automatons.[2] At the end of the Side Quest "Automaton Engineer Dampé", he allows Princess Zelda to peruse his Journal for any Automatons she may be interested in.[3]

Initially, Zelda is only able to read the the Journal's first entry, which begins the "Explosions Galore!" Side Quest. After completing this Automaton, the entries corresponding to "Performance Artist!", "Endless Stomach!", and "Chop 'em in Two!" become available as well. If Zelda reads one of these entries, she will be unable to read the other two until she completes its respective Side Quest. The entry related to "Get Rich Quick!" becomes available once the previous three Automatons have been finished.

When Zelda reads an entry for the first time, it will be updated with information about the Monster and Object that Dampé needs to see to finalize the Automaton's design. In addition, once the Side Quest related to an entry has been completed, Zelda will not be able to go back and read it again. After all of the Automatons have been completed, Dampé's Journal! is updated to express his satisfaction.[4]

"Explosions galore!"

Concept: A jovial, explosive automaton that leaves destruction in its wake.

Below are notes on what I'll need for this creation: monster type and raw materials.

"A creature that spits stones out of its mouth."

"A firework that whooshes into the sky."

For the firework, I heard there's an artisan who makes them up on Eldin Volcano

"Performance artist!"

Concept: A cute, fancy automaton that plays a chipper little tune and puts on a show.

Below are notes on what I'll need for this creation: monster type and raw materials.

"A jiggly creature with cute little eyes."

"Something that makes beautiful tones."

I've heard pretty sounds coming from Hyrule Ranch.

"Endless stomach!"

Concept: An automaton that can gobble up any monster, anytime.

Below are notes on what I'll need for this creation: monster type and raw materials.

"A creature that snaps and swallows things whole with its gaping jaws."

"Special bits that have great clamping ability."

The fella who spreads acorns around has a great clamper, I've heard.

"Chop 'em in two!"

Concept: A fearless automaton that can slice through anything blocking its path.

Below are notes on what I'll need for this creation: monster type and raw materials.

"A creature with a sword who fights in groups."

"A super sharp weapon."

I hear the leader of the dojo in Kakariko Village has a rare weapon. Bet it's sharp too.

"Get rich quick!"

Concept: A sparkling gold automaton who really rakes in the dough.

Below are notes on what I'll need for this creation: monster type and raw materials.

"That flying thief crow! Grah!"

"Something dazzling and extra showy."

The Gerudo researching something at the oasis in Gerudo Desert had a real dazzler, I think.

I feel complete! All of my visions have now come to life!
