Earthwake
The Earthwake is a recurring ability in The Legend of Zelda series.(TotKTears of the Kingdom)[1] The Earthwake goes unnamed in Breath of the Wild.
Overview
Breath of the Wild
The Earthwake is a technique used by Yiga Blademasters that creates a homing fissure in the ground that will damage Link. The fissure creates an Updraft that Link can ride with his Paraglider.
Tears of the Kingdom
Like in Breath of the Wild, the Earthwake is utilized by Yiga Blademasters while they attack Link. To learn the Earthwake ability, Link must first acquire all three pieces of the Yiga Clan Attire to gain entrance to the Yiga Clan Hideout. While inside, he can take on the Yiga Clan Training Mini-Game, during which he must defeat multiple Yiga in under one minute. The intermediate level of the challenge, which requires six enemies to be defeated within the time limit, will award him with the Earthwake Manual.
While unarmed, Link can charge an Earthwake attack to launch enemies, though larger foes such as Lynels will not be affected. It deals minor damage and is more useful for its ability to knock foes off their feet, giving Link a chance to disengage and re-equip himself. The attack costs approximately one-quarter of a stamina wheel to perform and will chase an enemy if Link is locked on to it.
