Energetic Rhino Beetles can be throughout the Akkala Highlands and West Necluda, particularly on Trees near South Akkala Stable and on pillars in Kakariko Village. They are also sold by the traveling merchant Bugut, who travels between Dueling Peaks Stable and Kakariko Village. Combining them in a Cooking Pot with Monster Parts will result in an Energizing Elixir.[1] The Kochi Dye Shop can use Energetic Rhino Beetles as ingredients for Yellow Dye.

When Link speaks to Beedle with at least one Energetic Rhino Beetle in his Inventory, Beedle will notice and beg to have it.[4] He offers Food or Elixirs as a trade.[5] If Link accepts, Beedle will be happy, as he considers finding an Energetic Rhino Beetle to be a good omen.[6] When Link speaks to Beedle afterwards, he claims to still be excited about the Beetle.[7] He claims that if Link has another, he should give it to him tomorrow, as he is going to be focusing on his new Beetle for the rest of the day.[8] If Link refuses, Beedle cannot understand his reasoning, as he believes the Energetic Rhino Beetle wants to be with him.[9] Quietly, Beedle then schemes to have someone sneak into Link's Inventory and replace his Energetic Rhino Beetle with a more common one.[10] Noticing Link is still listening, he asks Link to let him know if he changes his mind.[11]
