Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors
The Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors are a group of singing frogs in Ocarina of Time.[1][name references needed]
Biography
During the past, Link can find the five frogs swimming near a log in Zora's River.[2] When the hero stands on the log, the frogs hop out of the water and onto it. When Link plays his Ocarina, the frogs hop to the corresponding note. The frogs will award the hero 50 Rupees for every song he plays for them. If Link plays "Zelda's Lullaby," "Epona's Song," "Saria's Song," the "Sun's Song," or the "Song of Time," one of the frogs will grow in size.[3] If Link plays the "Song of Storms," the frogs will instead reward him with a Piece of Heart.[4]
After all the frogs have fully grown, they will ask Link to help them eat butterflies by playing notes on his Ocarina.[5] When the game begins, a butterfly will appear over one of the frogs. Link must then play the note on his Ocarina which corresponds to that frog in order to make it jump and eat the butterfly. If Link plays a wrong note or waits too long, he will have to restart the song. If Link manages to complete it, they will reward him with another Piece of Heart.[6]
Trivia
- In Ocarina of Time 3D, the frogs' reference to "Singin' in the Rain" was changed to "singin' in the pond,"[7] possibly to avoid copyright infringement.
