Biography
The Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors are a group of five uniquely-colored Frogs located in Zora's River. They learned to sing by listening to traveling minstrels who passed by the riverbank, and later began to reward any musicians who performed for them.[2]
During the Child Era, Link can find the five Frogs swimming near a log in Zora's River.[3] When he stands on the nearby log and takes out his Ocarina, the Frogs hop out of the water and onto it in anticipation for Link's performance. Each note that Link plays on the Ocarina causes one of the Frogs to hop, with the Frogs' positions on the log corresponding to the five button positions.
The Frogs will reward Link with 50 Rupees for playing a specific Song for them among "Zelda's Lullaby", "Epona's Song", "Saria's Song", the "Sun's Song", or the "Song of Time". Additionally, each Song causes one of the five Frogs to grow in size the first time it is performed.[4] Details for the corresponding buttons and Songs that the Frogs respond to are as follows:

Ocarina of Time 3D
The Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors fully-grown
If Link plays the "Song of Storms", the Frogs will instead reward him with a Piece of Heart.[5] Playing any of the six Warping Songs or the "Scarecrow's Song" has no effect. Provided that Link has not caused all of the Tenors to grow in size or alternatively, Link has not received the Piece of Heart by performing the "Song of Storms" while they are all grown, Link is able to play these Songs again to receive a Blue Rupee for each performance. However, he will no longer be able to perform these Songs once both of these conditions are met.
After all the Frogs have fully grown and the Piece of Heart is claimed, the Froggish Tenors will then ask Link to help them eat Butterflies in the Bug-Catching Song Mini-Game by playing notes on his Ocarina.[1]
The Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors do not appear in the Adult Era.
Trivia
- In Ocarina of Time 3D, the Frogs' reference to "Singin' in the Rain" was changed to "Singin' in the pond",[6][5] possibly to avoid copyright infringement.
