Fighters are recurring characters in The Legend of Zelda series, all originally from their own individual franchises. In Super Smash Bros., they are who the player controls and fights as. Many characters from The Legend of Zelda make appearances as playable characters in Super Smash Bros., such as Link and Zelda. Although no Fighters not debuting in The Legend of Zelda have any roles story-wise, there have been some that were present in the games as Easter eggs.
