Floating Garden is a Level in Tri Force Heroes.[1] It is the first Level of the Sky Realm Area, and is followed by Deception Castle.

Themes and Navigation

The Floating Garden takes place in the sky high above the Drablands. It consists of clusters of floating islands with vibrant foliage, including grass, flowers and vines. Throughout the Level, strong currents of wind blow through parts of the Stages, which may knock the Links off the islands.

Relaying a Bomb in Stage 1

In Stage 1, the Links start on a small floating island next to a Bow, Bombs, and a Gripshot. They immediately come to a gap before the next island, with a strong wind blowing through it. Firing Arrows at a pair of Shock Switches will extend a bridge across the gap, but the wind will alter the Arrows' path, requiring the Link with the Bow to fire at angles that counteract the wind's effect. The next island is more verdant, with long Grass on a ledge that can be sliced to produce Hearts or Rupees. The Links come across two Sky Shield Soldiers whose defenses can be lowered by using the Gripshot to steal their shields. The third island is across another windy gap, but this time the Shock Switch is on a protected ledge and can't be easily hit with an Arrow. The intended solution is to form a Totem so the Link with the Gripshot can grip onto a Stake across the gap, then one of the other Links throws a Bomb onto the ground near the gap. The Link with the Gripshot then pulls the Bomb across and tosses it at the Switch, activating the bridge. On the third island, another Shock Switch rests in the ground under a metal grate. It can be triggered by a Bomb's blast, but the Link must time his throw correctly, as a gust of wind blows directly over it. Once activated, a broken and narrow bridge extends to the fourth island. The Links carefully cross it while fighting the wind's current, and arrive at the Triforce Gateway.

Gliding with Cuccos in Stage 2

Stage 2 begins on another small island, this time with three Cuccos. By holding them overhead and running off the east edge of the island, the Links will be able to glide long distances with the Cuccos slowing their descent. The heroes glide over several tiny islands, each with some Jars, Green Rupees, and a spare Cucco in case one of theirs flies away after being dropped. Eventually they come to a larger island with traces of ruined structures, along with a few more Jars and Cuccos. To the north is a ruined castle entrance with a grassy courtyard before it; the Links can glide directly to the island, or, take a nearby lift up to the structural remains and attempt to glide from there onto a tall pillar in the courtyard with a Treasure Chest on top, containing a Silver Rupee. Once all the Links land in the courtyard, a group of Helmasaurs appear. These Enemies give chase to the nearest Link and require teamwork to hit them from behind, or using the Gripshot to remove their protective masks. When they are all defeated, the castle doors swing open, leading to the Triforce Gateway. Several ledges around the courtyard have Hearts and Rupees that can be reached with a Totem.

Cucco-gliding to a small platform in Stage 3

Stage 3 appears to take place on castle grounds with many walls and floors crumbled away. The Links begin next to a narrow walkway heading south, where a strong wind pushes them toward the edge. The Link with the Bow must be carried so that he can shoot an Arrow at a Shock Switch to the right of the walkway while the Totem fights the current. This creates a staircase at the end of the walkway that leads to a garden-like area with its north wall intact, where the Links can find a Squiddy. These grounds soon turn to the north, but the entire corner is impassible due to a massive section of floor missing. A small floating platform moves from the far edge to the middle of the gap, far out of the Links' reach. Two Cuccos can be found on a floating ledge just south of the Links' side of the gap, which can be reached with a Totem after a barrier of small Cracked Blocks are destroyed with Bombs. One or more of the Links will have to Cucco-glide across the gap with perfect positioning to land on the moving platform. Once they make it to the north side, hitting a Shock Switch will summon more floating platforms to make a bridge for the remaining Links.

A short distance to the north, two Sky Shield Soldiers guard a locked door leading to the Triforce Gateway. The Key is found on a shielded ledge just to the east, where a mechanism protects it from any fewer than three heroes. Two Links must stand on Floor Switches; one which retracts the shield in front of the Key, and one which erects a platform from which the Link with the Gripshot can grab it, though he must do so while fighting a strong wind that could easily knock him off. Once the Key is recovered, the door to the Triforce Gateway can be unlocked.

First wave of Enemies in Stage 4

In Stage 4, the Links appear on a narrow ledge with Jars containing Hearts to the sides, and a path heading north to a garden-like area. Once they enter the garden, the path crumbles away behind them, and a horde of Helmasaurs and two Fire Keeleons appear. The Keeleons can be attacked by using Items from the top of a three-Link Totem, or by throwing a Link on top of one of the several high platforms around the garden. The Links can also run around these platforms to escape from any chasing Helmasaurs. As soon as the Enemies are defeated, another wave appears. This time, the Fire Keeleons are at a height of two Links, and the platforms all fall through the ground, creating hazardous pits. When all of the Enemies are defeated, the doors leading to the Triforce Gateway are opened. The Triforce Gateway appears below a stone monument, beside which is a pair of Treasure Chests containing Red Rupees, and two floating platforms with several more Green and Blue Rupees.

Drablands Challenges

Once the Boss of the Sky Realm has been defeated, Floating Garden can be replayed with the following Drablands Challenges: "Evade the Wallmaster!", "Win without using a sword!", and "Don't fall at all!".

Materials

At the end of the Level, three Treasure Chests can be opened. Two contain the same Material, and one contains another, more valuable Material.

Trivia

  • Though it is not mentioned in the Drablands Diary like each of the prior Areas, a bird's nest is hidden in each Level of the Sky Realm. One can be found on a tree in Stage 2 of Floating Garden, by shifting the camera to the right while Link is gliding north to the courtyard.
