The Flying Rooster is a character in Link's Awakening.[3][5]

Biography

The Flying Rooster is initially a deceased corpse resting underneath the Weather Vane of Mabe Village.[5] By playing the "Frog's Song of Soul" next to him, Link can resurrect him. The Flying Rooster will then follow Link around on the Overworld. By holding him above his head, Link is able to fly, allowing him to reach the Bird Key in Tal Tal Heights. The Flying Rooster can also be used to an optional Secret Seashell near the bridge of Kanalet Castle.

Once Link has completed Eagle's Tower, the Flying Rooster will leave and make his new home in the Henhouse with the Henhouse Keeper.[6] The Flying Rooster is seen giving the man some flights in his house, and Link will no longer be able to use it.[4]
